Patricia Arquette has joined the cast of the Jeff Buckley biopic, according to reports.
The True Romance star will play the role of Mary Guibert, the mother of the late US singer-songwriter and the widow of singer/songwriter Tim Buckley, who was also a musician, Variety said.
Reeve Carney, star of Broadway show Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark and a musician whose band, Carney, have opened for U2 and the Arcade Fire, is set to play the lead role in the film.
TheWrap said the film, Mystery White Boy, takes its name from a collection of Jeff Buckley's live recordings.
Directed by Jake Scott, the film is currently in preproduction in Memphis, where Jeff accidentally drowned in 1997 at the age of 30.
Jake, the son of filmmaker Ridley Scott, has links to the music world - having directed U2, REM and Radiohead videos.
The film is written by Ryan Jaffe and based on David Browne's book Dream Brother: The Lives And Music Of Jeff And Tim Buckley.
