Bacon avoids Footloose at weddings
Kevin Bacon has admitted he bribes DJs at weddings not to play the Footloose song.
The 55-year-old actor made his name as a teen who gets the town dancing in the 1984 movie, but confessed that when he goes to weddings he asks the DJs not to put the film's theme song on because he doesn't want to take the focus off the bride and groom by reprising his famous moves.
Kevin said on the Conan show in the US: "I go to the disc jockey and hand him 20 dollars and say, 'Please don't play that song'.
"Because first off, a wedding is really not about me, it's about the bride and groom and it's embarrassing. It's awful. I try to avoid that if possible."
Kevin also revealed he almost missed out on the role of Ren McCormack in the movie because film bosses didn't think he had enough sex appeal.
"The producer of the movie wanted me and the director of the movie wanted me but the head of the studio at the time literally said to them, I don't want that kid because he's not f****ble. That's a true story. Now I was about 24 at the time and I was pretty sure that I was f****ble. Maybe I wasn't, I don't know...
"But they were very supportive of me, these two guys, the director and the producer."
Kevin said the pair put together a screen test of him trying to look appealing in different outfits and he eventually landed the part.
