Antonio Banderas has revealed that he has seen a side to Penelope Cruz not many people know about.
The Spanish actor often plays games with his Desperado co-star, who is married to fellow Spaniard Javier Bardem as well as other Spanish-speaking stars like Eva Longoria who are based out in Los Angeles.
"We play games. We love that. We play one called Wolves [a murder mystery role-playing game for actors]. Penelope, Javier and now Eva Longoria comes too," he told Harper's Bazaar.
"We get together once a week. Penelope and Javier are both very good at Wolves. I have seen Penelope doing things that you wouldn't believe to win, picking huge fights with dear friends of hers, unbelievable!"
Antonio, whose career was launched by Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, is reunited with his mentor in The Skin I Live In.
"Pedro hasn't changed. I learn something new everytime I work with him. He opened my mind through the movies we did together," he said.
"It's great to know that Almodovar is more Almodovar than ever... being directed by him is hell... but it's a very creative hell! He's a very difficult director to work with which is good. I wouldn't criticise him for that. He imposes his personality, and it's difficult to escape the tremendous gravity that he has."
