Bay says yes to Cosmic Motors film
Michael Bay is set to put his stamp on more fancy vehicles, by directing a film about Cosmic Motors.
The Transformers filmmaker will adapt Daniel Simon's book - a catalogue of nine futuristic vehicles - for the big screen, reported The Tracking Board.
The book features a range of spaceships to race cars to motorcycles, which are produced by the fictional Cosmic Motors company in the Galaxion galaxy, from concept art to 3D rendering. Each vehicle is accompanied by a back story that hints at the sci-fi world that Cosmic Motors is a part of.
Daniel, who was a senior designer at Volkswagen, has made a name for himself designing futuristic vehicles for films such as Tron: Legacy and Captain America: The First Avenger.
Michael, the brains behind the Transformers films, will create an original story for the film, which he would also co-produce. While no writer is attached yet, the project is reportedly being described as a "space Western".
The 49-year-old filmmaker, who directed Transformers: Age Of Extinction and Pain And Gain, is also producing a number of films including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the upcoming sequel, and The Purge: Anarchy.
