Gael Garcia Bernal's new film about Christopher Columbus has been announced as Spain's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at next year's Oscars.
Tambien La Lluvia, which means Even The Rain, deals with the story of Columbus in South America and depicts the explorer - who discovered America - as being chiefly interested in gold and slaves, and not simply discovering new lands.
The film - directed by Madrid-born Iciar Bollai - is set in Bolivia and stars Spanish actor Luis Tosar as well as Mexican star Gael.
It will go before the US Academy for selection in competition for next year's awards
The Academy will select finalists for the honour in January, with the Oscars ceremony around a month later.
Spain has won four Oscars for best foreign language film.
