Blind Date bowed out on an episode that shocked viewers when a contestant gave a rude review of his date.
Gary and Deborah returned to the Channel 5 dating show to tell host Paul O’Grady about how they had got on after being matched on last week’s programme.
Viewers were stunned by Gary’s tactless observation that his date was “no Melanie Sykes”, making reference to the star who provides the Blind Date voiceovers.
Fans of the show feared it might not have been a match made in heaven when they saw how far apart the pair were sitting.
Gary and Deborah, got on hopefully. But that gap in sofa 😕 #blinddate— Dave (@mcfcnorthstand3) July 22, 2017
People hoped that Sykes would manage to make it out of the studio without running into Gary.
Viewers were not impressed by Gary’s rudeness, especially when a visibly-upset Deborah claimed they had kissed.
Fans of the programme were also sad the series had reached its last episode.
There was good news when it was announced that the series would be making a return as the episode ended.
