Anand died of cardiac arrest in a hotel in the capital on Decrmber 3 after travelling to the UK for a medical check-up. He was 88 years old.

Famed for his roles in dozens of movies, including 'Jewel Thief' and 'Guide', the veteran Indian actor, director and producer was working up to the last minute, with a new script in the works.

The film star's ashes will be returned to India for immersion burial in the Godavari river.
