Boyega drops hints at Marvel role
John Boyega has sparked speculation he could be joining the Marvel universe after some teasing tweets.
The Attack The Block actor, who is to star in Star Wars: Episode VII, started the rumour mill going when he wrote: " Marvel role? ... hehehe ... I'm dam right aiming for it."
The 22-year-old added: "Currently booking flight to wakanda," in reference to the fictional African nation in the Marvel world.
John's posts led to speculation he could play Black Panther, to which the actor retweeted one of his fans' replies saying: "These @JBoyega Black Panther tease articles are lazy BS click bait. The guy was reading Civil War, not hinting he was in the BP movie."
Other characters who live on Wakanda include Man-Ape and Gentle.
Screenrant later speculated that the tweets could signify the announcement of a Black Panther movie that Marvel Studios will make at its panel on July 26.
John, who joins Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher in JJ Abrams' next instalment of the sci-fi franchise, previously starred in 24: Live Another Day, and Nigerian drama Half Of A Yellow Sun.
