Breslin for Virgin Mary comedy

Abigail Breslin has signed up to star in new teen comedy A Virgin Mary.

The 15-year-old actress - who earned an Oscar nomination at just 10 for her role in Little Miss Sunshine - will play a teenager who promises to have sex with her best male friend if they're still virgins by the time they turn 18, Variety reports.

Valentine's Day's Carter Jenkins will star opposite Abigail, Akeelah and the Bee's Keke Palmer will play her best friend, and Spy Kid's Daryl Sabara has also been cast in the indie project, due to begin filming early next year.

Abigail is about to begin work playing a killer in The Class Project. She will star in the true story of two Canadian sisters who, fed up of living with their alcoholic mother and her abusive boyfriends, plot to kill her, according to Variety.

The actress made her film debut aged six in M Night Shyamalan's Signs with Mel Gibson. She is home schooled and already has over 20 movies under her belt.

She appears as part of the ensemble of Garry Marshall's romantic comedy New Year's Eve in December.
