Bridesmaids up for Comedy Awards
Bridesmaids stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy are set to fight it out at Comedy Central's Comedy Awards.
The two stars are up for best performance by an actress, while the bridal comedy, which was co-written by Kristen and Annie Mumolo, leads the nominations with five nods.
Crazy, Stupid, Love is its closest opponent, having also received five nominations.
Bridesmaids director Paul Feig faces Crazy, Stupid, Love filmmakers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa for best comedy director.
Steve Carell - who also got a nod for his role in The Office - has been recognised for his performance in the comedy drama, while his co-star Emma Stone has received a nomination for best actress, where she also faces Jennifer Aniston in Horrible Bosses and Bad Teacher's Cameron Diaz.
Woody Allen's Midnight In Paris and Horrible Bosses have received four nominations each, followed by Oscar-winner The Artist with three nods.
30 Rock and Modern Family lead in the TV show categories, with five nominations each, followed by Curb Your Enthusiasm with four and Parks And Recreation with three.
"I want to thank everyone connected to the award and I want 30 Rock to win," said Alec Baldwin, who has been nominated for best performance by a TV actor.
The annual event, now in its second year, is dedicated to honouring and celebrating the world of comedy. It will take place at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom on April 28, before airing on Comedy Central in May.
