Brolin 'to play Guardians' Thanos'
Josh Brolin is tipped to play villain Thanos in Guardians Of The Galaxy.
The Oscar-nominated Milk star is rumoured to voice the purple-skinned alien, referred to as the Mad Titan, in the upcoming Marvel movie. He would then reprise the role in the Avengers sequel Age Of Ultron, reported Latino Review.
Thanos - a member of The Eternals, a group of god-like beings with immense power - made his first appearance on screen in a post-credits scene at the end of Avengers Assemble, where the character was played by Damion Poitier.
Josh would join Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Benicio del Toro and Zoe Saldana in Guardians Of The Galaxy, which is directed by James Gunn.
Zoe Saldana is playing Thanos's adopted daughter Gamora, alongside former Doctor Who actress Karen Gillan as her sister Nebula.
Chris Pratt has been cast in the lead role of Peter Quill, while Bradley will provide the voice of gun-loving raccoon Rocket and Vin Diesel is tree-like humanoid Groot in the superhero flick. Glenn Close, John C Reilly and Djimon Hounsou will also appear in the film.
Josh, last seen in Labor Day alongside Kate Winslet and Spike Lee's English-language remake of Oldboy, will next star in the Sin City sequel A Dame To Kill For, and Paul Thomas Anderson's crime drama Inherent Vice.
He is also attached to star in real-life drama Everest with Jake Gyllenhaal, Sam Worthington and Keira Knightley.
