Bullock's full 3D glory in Gravity

Sandra Bullock has revealed that director Alfonso Cuaron wanted his actors to bask in their natural glory in sci-fi drama Gravity.

The Oscar-winning actress admitted she had her doubts about going au naturel, especially with the 3D shots, when asked by the Mexican filmmaker to go without make-up.

"God help us all when my face comes rushing at you with no make-up on. I'm going to apologise now, but Alfonso, in a brilliant move, said, 'No make-up'," she told USA Today.

Sandra also expressed her hesitations about being shown in full 3D glory, much like her co-star George Clooney, who previously said: "It's the first time I've been in 3D and, hopefully, the last time."

The actress continued: "Our vain little heads are going to be some massive 17-foot image. You are going to see details because it's shot on this digital film that shows everything. It's so scary.

"There are scenes where you say, 'This is where you have to let go... And, thank God, there are no nude scenes."

Sandra and George play surviving astronauts who have to try to return back to earth in the 3D sci-fi thriller, set to be released in November.
