Christine Bleakley nervous but excited over TV return
Christine Bleakley has admitted she is nervous about returning to daytime TV ahead of her move to This Morning early next year.
The Co Down beauty, who was axed from ITV's Daybreak along with her co-host Adrian Chiles, will fill in for Holly Willoughby during the later part of her maternity leave.
The 35-year-old fiancee of footballer Frank Lampard said: "I'm really looking forward to working on the show and I love Phil and Holly as they are such a lovely team.
"I get extremely nervous, especially for live filming. I have watched the programme for so many years, so for me I was like, 'I can't believe I'm doing this!'"
Earlier in the summer, Amanda Holden was announced as the surprise replacement for Willoughby, who is due to take time off to have her third baby. However, Bleakley will then take over on the This Morning sofa when Britain's Got Talent judge Holden returns for the show's auditions in January 2015.
Bleakley's schedule is expected to become even busier in the spring, when Lampard, currently on loan at Manchester City, heads to the States to play for New York City FC.
The couple were spotted house-hunting in the Big Apple, but Bleakley has said she will be staying in London and visiting the US.
The presenter, who has stood in on This Morning in the past but got a mixed reception on Twitter, is due to host a separate primetime travel show – expected to begin shooting in autumn – as part of a bid to revive her career.
In July 2007, Bleakley became the co-host of The One Show alongside Adrian Chiles. In 2010, Chiles quit the show and Bleakley followed. They became hosts of ITV's Daybreak on a four-year, £4m contract, only for them to be axed amid falling ratings
