Clueless star Stacey Dash running for Congress
Stacey had teased her run for Congress on social media.
Clueless actress Stacey Dash is running for Congress in the US.
The 51-year-old star – who played Dionne Davenport in both the 1995 film and its television spin-off – has filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to run in California’s 44th district.
The documents show that the campaign committee is called “Dash to DC”. The actress has set up a website with the same name.
Earlier this month Dash, a Republican, told her fans on social media she was thinking about a move into the political arena.
She wrote: “In response to numerous calls for me to run for office, I am considering a run for Congress.
“Would love to know what my fans and friends think.”
A number of people online and off have suggested I run for political office. I wanted to see what my online community thinks of this idea as I mull the possibilities. Thoughts? pic.twitter.com/L71fF0NnXR— Stacey Dash (@staceydash) February 9, 2018
Dash also tweeted about her plans and the message had a “Dash to DC” badge on it.
She later hinted to her 565,000 followers on the social networking site that she had news.
