Comic reunion for Wahlberg, Ferrell

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell could reunite for comedy Daddy's Home.

The Ted star, who previously shared screen time with Will in 2010's buddy-cop comedy The Other Guys, is in talks to join the film in the role Vince Vaughn was previously attached to, reported Deadline.

Will is already on board to play a mild-mannered stepdad, with Mark tipped to play the two children's real father. The duo are thought to go head to head as both compete for the affection of the kids.

Horrible Bosses 2 directors Sean Anders and John Morris are in discussions to take the reins on the film, which has been written by Brian Burns, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy and Etan Cohen.

Production is expected to begin in the autumn.

Mark, who next stars in Transformers: Age Of Extinction, has a number of films coming up including crime thriller Mojave and Rupert Wyatt's The Gambler. He will also reprise his role as John Bennett in Seth MacFarlane's Ted sequel.
