Deacon: I gave Hurst acting advice

Adam Deacon has revealed he offered acting tips to Sir Geoff Hurst.

The Anuvahood actor - who recently scooped the Bafta Rising Star award - got to work with the footballing legend on action thriller Payback Season.

"He's amazing. Obviously, he's a legend but I think he was a little bit nervous with the whole acting thing at the start," Adam said on the red carpet of the NME Awards.

"We had a little chat and I explained to him, 'Get rid of the whole acting thing, forget that there's a director telling you what to do, and just think what you would say in that situation'. Once he got that in his head, he did it in one take. So I think he was pretty on it," the 28-year-old added.

Adam also revealed winning a Bafta has already got him on Hollywood's radar.

"I've had my first offer for an international film, it's an American one. Hopefully, it will just take it to that next level that I've been trying for a while to take it to," he said.

"It's a horror [film], but I can't say too much until I've signed it. I'm hoping it's a villain - they haven't said what I'm playing yet but I always like playing a bad character."
