Depp: I'm ready for Lone Ranger 2
Johnny Depp and his Lone Ranger co-stars are ready to jump back into the saddle if a sequel gets the green light, they have revealed.
Armie Hammer stars as the masked Lone Ranger alongside Johnny as his Native American sidekick Tonto in Gore Verbinski's Western adventure.
"I think it was a one-shot deal. If they started talking sequel on this I'd be ready to go in a second," Johnny told E! News.
Both Armie and British actress Ruth Wilson, who plays the Lone Ranger's love interest Rebecca, hinted they are already committed to more movies, with the Social Network star saying: "I'm signed for a couple more. But we'll see. It all kind of depends on this one."
Ruth added: "I'm signed for three. So if there is another one, it would be lovely to be in it but you never know. Hopefully, fingers crossed."
One of the reasons the cast are happy to return is because they had fun shooting the film.
"He was great, so funny to work with," said Johnny about working with Armie. "We had a good time. The most trouble we had was keeping a straight face."
Armie added: "The first time I saw [Johnny] was at the read-through. He turned up in his Tonto make-up. That was quite a move he pulled. I thought it was quite good."
Ruth got to do her own stunts: "I really enjoyed them because I quite like being scared and putting myself in those situations. For me it was a dream come true - throwing myself off trains!"
The Lone Ranger opens in the UK on August 9.
