Diesel to be in Soldiers Of The Sun

Vin Diesel is reportedly "attached" to star in sci-fi film Soldiers Of The Sun.

The Fast And Furious star is said to be teaming up with Arash Amel to create a new original sci-fi action film franchise, which he would star in and produce, said The Hollywood Reporter.

Universal has already picked up the idea, based on Arash's script.

Soldiers Of The Sun is set in a post-apocalyptic future and follows a squad of soldiers searching for a fabled city of gold, while on a tour of duty in Mexico, and freeing it from an alien race of Orcs.

It is hoped that this could launch a new movie series for Vin, who is already the frontman of Riddick and Fast And Furious franchises. The actor will co-produce with Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

The film is Arash's third script and marks a return to the sci-fi action genre, following his turn writing the upcoming Grace Kelly biopic Grace Of Monaco, starring Nicole Kidman.

Vin is about to head into production on the seventh instalment of the Fast And Furious franchise and start filming The Last Witch Hunter.

The star, who will next reprise his role in Riddick, has also hinted that he could be one of the characters in Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy.
