Robert Downey Jr has left fans guessing about the future of Iron Man after giving some mixed messages about whether there will be another movie.
The Hollywood actor said in one interview this week that he would be playing Tony Stark/Iron Man in a fourth film, but in a later interview said that there were actually no plans for Iron Man 4.
The first interview was on Ellen DeGeneres' TV show and Robert, 49, hinted to the host that he would be donning the superhero's bodysuit again, explaining: "We're in the middle of negotiations."
"So yes," Ellen pressed him.
"OK, yes," replied the star.
But the actor later appeared on The Late Show and told host David Letterman: "There are no plans for an Iron Man 4."
When the host quizzed him again about whether he would make another film in the franchise, Robert said: "Just between us, no. But I'm going to do other stuff with Marvel. I'm still going to be involved with Marvel, and there's going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen."
However, the star did say that Marvel had "a plan" which would be announced soon.
