Dressmaker role calls to Hemsworth
Liam Hemsworth is set to star in romantic drama The Dressmaker, opposite Kate Winslet.
The Hunger Games star has signed up for a role in Jocelyn Moorhouse's big-screen adaptation of Rosalie Ham's revenge novel, reported Screen Daily.
"Liam Hemsworth is a laid back, genuine charmer who's also tall, dark and movie-star handsome. He'll create a character for the audience to fall in love with," the director said.
Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Debicki will also join Kate and Judy Davis in the film, which will start production in Victoria, Australia, in October.
Oscar-winning actress Kate is already on board to play skilled couturier Tilly Dunnage, who is intent on taking vengeance when she returns to her small Australian home-town from Europe, years after fleeing when she was accused of murder.
Judy will play her eccentric mother in the "stylish drama with comic undertones", which has also been likened to Clint Eastwood's Western Unforgiven "with a sewing machine".
Jocelyn said: "The cast is extraordinary. Kate Winslet is perfect for Tilly. She's beautiful, intelligent, and deeply mysterious on screen. Judy Davis is amongst the great contemporary actresses and she will bring powerful wit and charm to the role of Molly."
