Eastwood to direct American Sniper?
Clint Eastwood is in talks to direct American Sniper, the war drama starring Bradley Cooper.
Steven Spielberg was previously attached to direct the true story of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who was killed at a gun range in February, but the War Horse filmmaker dropped out of the project earlier this month.
Clint is in early talks to direct the movie, based on Kyle's autobiography, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
If he does sign up, the Million Dollar Baby director will be on a tight schedule, as he is about to begin directing Jersey Boys, the adaptation of the Broadway musical about the rise and fall of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
American Sniper must shoot early next year because of Bradley's many commitments. But Clint is renowned for his quick, efficient shooting time.
Oscar-winning actor Bradley is extremely committed to the project after buying the rights to Kyle's book American Sniper: The Autobiography Of The Most Lethal Sniper In US Military History. he is also a producer on the project.
The book - which reveals how Kyle came to record the highest number of sniper kills for an American - has won critical acclaim for its frank first-person account of a military killer.
