Ehle geeks out for Contagion role
Jennifer Ehle got to embrace her inner nerd while researching new film Contagion.
The King's Speech star plays a scientist battling to find a vaccine for a killer virus in Steven Soderbergh's latest effort.
To prepare for the role, she spent time at Columbia University observing epidemiologists in action.
"I got to mash everything up and find little tiny pieces, and find the DNA of it, it was really extraordinary," she said.
She continued: "It was amazing, the nerd in me just completely geeked out."
Despite her initial fears that her role in the movie might be cut in the editing process, the director ended up calling her back to shoot extra scenes after test audiences proved enthusiastic about the science behind the movie.
Contagion stars Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard and Gwyneth Paltrow.
