Luke Evans has said he can't wait to get started on a remake of The Crow.
The Fast and Furious 6 actor will star in the remake of the 1994 fantasy film about a man who comes back to life as the undead avenger of his and his fiancee's brutal murders.
Luke said: "I've been offered the role, yes, and it's very exciting.
"It's a fantastic role, it was a great film. It's been in the hearts and minds of a lot of people for a very long time. It's 20 years old now and I think it deserves a remake."
The Crow originally starred Brandon Lee and was based on a comic book series by James O'Barr.
Luke's version, due to start filming in 2014, will be directed by F Javier Gutierrez.
The actor who will appear in the next two Hobbit films said of The Crow: "The script I've read is brilliant and the director they have is fantastic, I've got a huge amount of respect for him and I'm really excited about it.
"It hasn't really sunk in to be honest. It's not 'til next year so I've got a while to wait but yes, it's all rolling forward."
Luke is also set to star in a film of Dracula in 2014, alongside Dominic Cooper.
