Dumb And Dumber is set for a comeback after filmmakers announced work on a sequel featuring the original cast will get underway this year.
The 1994 movie - which starred Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as dopey friends Harry and Lloyd - was directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly, who told movie news website ComingSoon.net that production for the new film will begin in Autumn.
"We're getting set to shoot Dumb And Dumber 2 in September," Peter said. "It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."
After receiving huge public acclaim, the film has been seen as one of The Mask star Jim Carey's breakthrough performances. However, the Farrelly brothers have been quick to distance themselves from the movie's 2003 prequel, Dumb And Dumberer.
"We did not do Dumb And Dumberer," Peter added. "That was a studio thing. We've always wanted to do a sequel and finally Jim called up... He called and said: 'We've got to do this thing again.'"
