Film tribute to Liam Neeson’s love Natasha
A new film which tells the story of British explorer George Mallory's final doomed attempt on Everest has been dedicated to the memory of the wife of Liam Neeson.
The Wildest Dream — which last night premiered at the BFI IMAX cinema, London — recounts how Mallory was torn between his love for his wife Ruth, and his obsession with the “last great adventure” to become the first to climb the huge mountain.
The explorer was last seen alive 800ft from the summit on what was his third attempt on Everest in 1924.
The film, directed by Anthony Geffen, is dedicated to Natasha Richardson, who reads Ruth Mallory's love letters to her husband.
Ms Richardson died in 2009 following a fall while skiing.
