Game of Thrones season 7 first pictures released

Fans of the hit fantasy series Game of Thrones have been buzzing with excitement as pictures from the upcoming seventh series have been released.

This is the first look at the new series viewers have enjoyed, as a teaser trailer released three weeks ago showed footage that would not be used in the show.

Among the new images are pictures of Daeanerys Targaryen and her entourage arriving in Westeros, while another shows a broody Jon Snow standing in what appears to be a crypt.

Fans have since been speculating that the hero is learning about his true parentage at Winterfell.

Game of Thrones - which is partially filmed in Northern Ireland - is set to return this summer.

Sky Atlantic and NOW TV will simulcast every episode with the US every week at 2 am from July 17 , with a repeat at 9pm the same day.

Previous seasons of the HBO show have premiered in April, however it was announced season 7 would not be broadcasting until July this year due to the weather, as 'Winter is here' in the land of Westeros.
