Gellar: I'm up for Buffy movie
Sarah Michelle Gellar has said she would star in a film version of Buffy The Vampire Slayer - if the script was "right".
The 36-year-old, who portrayed vampire killer Buffy Summers in the supernatural series, admitted that adapting the TV show for the big screen would be a big challenge.
The show, which ran for seven seasons from 1997 until 2003, was a spin-off of Joss Whedon's 1992 film, which starred Kristy Swanson in the title role.
"Joss and I always talk about it. But the thing with Buffy is that Buffy was a movie, and it ultimately didn't work as a film," she told E! News.
"We had such miles to overcome when we were trying to do a TV show based on a movie. And one of the reasons is that the story works better over time."
The actress added: "If there was ever the right story, we would do it."
Sarah - who stars alongside Robin Williams in new TV comedy The Crazy Ones - joked that she might be too old to reprise her role as Buffy, saying: "At this point, the stake would be my walker and I would be hobbling in."
There were reports that Warner Bros was making a Buffy film reboot in 2010, but that series creator Joss has said he wouldn't want to be involved with it.
"If they do that, they do that. If they do it, I hope they do it well, that's all....I haven't heard anything about it for years, so it does not fill my thoughts."
