Guillermo del Toro has signed up to direct ghost story Crimson Peak.
The Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy filmmaker set up the movie and co-wrote the script, Deadline reported.
The director told the film site that the movie was "a very set-orientated, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story.
"It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules."
Filming is expected to begin early in 2014.
Guillermo's forthcoming films include sci-fi flick Pacific Rim, and he's also thought to be making a darker take on children's classic Pinocchio.
