Haley Joel Osment is to star in new gothic horror movie Wake The Dead.
The Sixth Sense star will play college student Victor Franklin, who experiments in bringing the dead back to life, in the modern take on Mary Shelley's classic gothic novel Frankenstein.
Guns 'n' Roses lead guitarist Slash is producing the film along with Rob Eric, through Slasher films.
Haley, 23, became a child star after earning an Oscar-nomination playing a young boy who could see ghosts in The Sixth Sense, but has been on a break from acting while he was in college.
Producer Rob told Variety: "This role allows him to break out of his shell and he will have no problem handling it."
The film is due to begin production in the autumn with no release date scheduled.
There are currently several other film adaptations of Frankenstein in the works, including one being developed by Guillermo del Toro and another at Fox which is being considered by directors Ron Howard, Paul Greengrass and David Yates.
