Hardy to play Marco Pierre White?

Tom Hardy is in talks to take on playing chef Marco Pierre White in a film about his rise to fame.

The Inception star is apparently considering a role as the bad boy of the culinary world, according to The Sun.

It will be based on Marco's memoir, The Devil In The Kitchen: Sex, Pain Madness and the Making of a Great Chef, and will chronicle his infamous behaviour in the 80s when he would regularly throw celebrities out of his restaurant if they complained about the food.

A source said: "Tom and Marco have had a long dialogue about the movie. Marco's given his blessing and thinks Tom is the only actor who can do him justice.

"A lot of people thought Russell Crowe was the obvious pick but the movie will primarily be about Marco in his twenties and thirties.

"Tom and Marco both have similar character traits, including coming from working-class backgrounds, and can both be very intense about their work. It will be perfect casting."

The film could also feature an actor playing Gordon Ramsay, who Marco trained and later fell out with.

He once said of Gordon: "If Gordon was chocolate he would eat himself. He doesn't have to apologise to me, he has to apologise to himself. He has disrespected himself more than me."
