Kit Harington has admitted he signed up to the new Spooks movie because he wanted to play a modern part for once.
The Game Of Thrones star is known as warrior Jon Snow in the hit show, and this year has played a gladiator on the big screen in Pompeii and stars as a soldier in First World War drama Testament Of Youth.
Kit is among the stellar cast for Spooks: The Greater Good - a big screen version of the hit BBC spy drama.
He said: "This year was one of those years where I'd spent a long time as a gladiator or a warrior or a man with a sword.
"And it was important to me, and I said to all my agents and team, I said I need to do something a bit more modern, which steps me into place where I've got more room for character development.
"And this [Testament Of Youth] definitely did that, and Spooks as well, even though it's an action movie. So it was great to do those this year, and I got a lot done other than Game Of Thrones as well, so I had a really good year."
