Katherine Heigl is to star in comedy Jenny's Wedding.
The 27 Dresses actress will play the title character, who causes a stir within her closely knit, highly conventional family when she decides to marry, reported Variety.
Tom Wilkinson and Linda Emond would portray her parents, while Grace Gummer will also have a supporting role in the film.
Mary Agnes Donoghue, who wrote Beaches and Veronica Guerin, will direct from her own script, with shooting expected to start on October 28.
Producer Michelle Manning said: "I am proud to bring writer/director Mary Agnes Donoghue's poignant story to life. Her vision of the family dynamic is unique, inspiring and highly entertaining, and we couldn't have assembled a better cast to bring the complexities of these characters to life, in what will surely make a highly impactful and very commercial film that will strike a chord with audiences everywhere."
Katherine is no stranger to wedding-themed movies, having starred in 27 Dresses, The Big Wedding and Killers.
The 34-year-old, last seen in The Big Wedding alongside Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton, will next star in comedy-drama North Of Hell with Patrick Wilson and Jordana Brewster. She is also lending her voice to a character in animated comedy The Nut Job, which stars Liam Neeson and Will Arnett.
