Hemsworth joins Expendables sequel

Liam Hemsworth is set to embark on a lads' adventure he will never forget.

The Australian actor is said to be the latest addition to The Expendables 2, alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris, reported Collider.

Liam - who starred in The Last Song with Miley Cyrus and will next play Gale Hawthorne in the big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games - joins action stars Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Mickey Rourke for the high adrenaline action blockbuster.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis are also set to reprise their roles from the first outing.

John Travolta and Donnie Yen are the other two rumoured actors yet to be confirmed for the eagerly anticipated sequel, to be directed by Con Air's Simon West.

Filming is expected to start this month in Bulgaria, with a planned release for August 2012.
