Hirsch, Phoenix for Belushi role?
Emile Hirsch and Joaquin Phoenix are both in the running to play John Belushi in a new film.
Warner Bros is developing a movie about the late comedian and the Hollywood actors are among the names linked to the lead role of the Blues Brothers star, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Writer and director Steve Conrad has apparently met with Into The Wild star Emile and Workaholics actor Adam Devine, and The Master star Joaquin's name has also come up.
Film bosses are also looking for an actor to play Belushi's friend and frequent collaborator Dan Aykroyd, and have met with New Girl's Nelson Franklin.
The film will be executively produced by Aykroyd, while Belushi's widow Judy Belushi Pisano will co-produce.
Belushi died in 1982, at the age of 33, following a drug overdose.
