Hirsch to live The Motel Life?

Emile Hirsch has reportedly signed up to star in new film The Motel Life.

The movie is an adaptation of the Willy Vlautin novel of the same name, which tells the story of two brothers who leave the Nevada town of Reno after being involved in a fatal accident.

According to Variety, the critically-acclaimed Into The Wild star is the first to join the project, which currently lacks a writer or director. It is thought that the film's producers Alan and Gabe Polsky might end up filling the positions themselves.

The part would be Emile's first leading role since he starred as a young racecar driver in The Wachowski Brothers' flick Speed Racer.

Filming is expected to start later this year.
