Sir Anthony Hopkins didn't stress to find an emotional back story for new superhero movie Thor.
"I don't think too much about that," the veteran actor confessed at the film's Hollywood premiere. "I just show up, learn my lines and don't bump into the furniture!"
"I'm not a Marvel comic nerd so it's all new to me," he laughed.
"Ken Branagh, the director, offered me that part and I said 'sure I'll have a go at it'."
The 73-year-old described working with Branagh as "wonderful, the best, terrific".
"I'm not a great movie-goer so I didn't know much about Thor," he admitted.
"I'd read some Nordic mythology years ago, Greek, German, Celtic mythology, it's complicated reading. There are so many different names, but I'd never been a Thor fanatic about the comics," he explained.
