Hunnam 'serious' about 50 Shades
Charlie Hunnam has said he won't be daunted by his big-screen role as Christian Grey - despite not being what some fans had in mind for the Fifty Shades Of Grey role.
The Sons Of Anarchy star is set to play the billionaire in the movie adaptation of EL James' erotic novel, opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia.
"There are so many fans of that book and I know that on the surface, I'm probably not what everybody imagined," Charlie told Entertainment Weekly.
"Because reading is so personal and people bring a character to life in their imagination, they feel ownership over that character."
Charlie said he wouldn't allow himself to be cowed by those who have expressed doubts about him in the role.
"That's daunting if I allowed myself to think about it too much," he said.
"I'm taking it very seriously and intend to explore the nature of who this character is, what motivates him - and also dress up nice and look good in those suits."
His Sons Of Anarchy co-star Maggie Siff said she was confident Charlie would deliver.
"We're all like, what? And then (we) talked to him seriously about it. I think he's very brave to it. He doesn't do anything unless he feels it deep down," she said.
