Irvine takes a drop into Fallen

Jeremy Irvine is set to star in Gothic romantic thriller Fallen.

The War Horse star will be joined by Californication actress Addison Timlin in the big-screen adaptation of Lauren Kate's books series, reported Deadline.

Addison would play Luce, a shy teenager who is sent to a supernatural reform school after she is suspected of killing a boy. She soon gets caught up in a love triangle with two fellow students with dark secrets of their own.

Jeremy is tipped to be cast as fallen angel Daniel Grigori, one of Luce's romantic interests.

Shine and The Lucky One filmmaker Scott Hicks will direct Fallen, which is the first in a four-part series.

Jeremy, who made his big-screen debut in Steven Spielberg's War Horse, will next star in war drama The Railway Man alongside Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.

Addison, last seen in action comedy Stand Up Guys, just finished working on The Town That Dreaded Sundown, which was produced by Ryan Murphy.
