Jack Huston rides into Ben-Hur
Jack Huston will be donning a toga and sandals to play Ben-Hur.
The Boardwalk Empire actor has been announced as the star of the big screen remake, reported Deadline.
He will play Judah Ben-Hur, who was played by Charlton Heston in the classic 1959 movie.
British star Jack joins Morgan Freeman, who earlier this month was revealed to be playing Ildarin, the man who teaches Ben-Hur to become a champion chariot racer.
There had previously been reports that Tom Hiddleston was being considered for the title role in the latest adaptation of Lew Wallace's 1880 novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ.
Jack apparently read for the part of Ben-Hur's former friend-turned-rival Messala, but director Timur Bekmambetov decided he was right for the lead.
The film is scheduled to be released on February 26, 2016.
