Jackson to play Black Phantom?
Samuel L Jackson is in talks to play the Black Phantom on the big screen.
The Pulp Fiction star is said to be in discussions to take the role of the notorious hitman in The Black Phantom after Jamie Foxx left the project due to scheduling conflicts, reported Deadline.
If a deal works out, the 65-year-old actor would star opposite Kevin Hart, who will play a double-crossed mob assassin who becomes the Black Phantom's target. The pair decide to form an unlikely partnership.
Tim Story, who worked with Kevin in Ride Along, is directing the action comedy, which has been written by Dave Lease and Megan Hinds.
The Black Phantom would mark a reunion for Samuel and Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper, following their collaboration on 2008 thriller Lakeview Terrace.
Samuel - whose recent big-screen outings include Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, Spike Lee's Oldboy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where he reprised his Marvel role as S.H.I.E.L.D leader Nick Fury - will next star in Matthew Vaughn's spy comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service.
He has also been linked to Quentin's The Hateful Eight, and will return to play Nick Fury in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
