Jake, Damon have premiere dance-off

Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr showed off their sexiest dance moves and their competitive sides as they premiered their new movie.

The New Girl stars play men pretending to be police officers in Let's Be Cops and the roles required elaborate dance routines when the characters are mistaken for strippers.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of the comedy, Jake and Damon said they were hugely competitive about who had the better moves.

"We were very competitive about sexy dancing. Damon might have more rhythm than me but I'm a sexier dancer because he can't do what I can do," Jake said.

The boys showcased a series of moves on the red carpet to try to show their supremacy, but co-star Nina Dobrev said there was no real competition.

"I was waiting for them to leave so I could say Damon is the better dancer, Jake is alright and he tries so A for effort, even though it's a D. But I will give him an A because it's nicer," she said.

After wrapping the movie, Damon joined Jake on the cast of hit E4 show New Girl and they were joined by colleagues Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone for their big night.

Speaking about their relationship, Damon said: "It comes from laughter, he makes me laugh a lot, I could work with this guy for I don't know how long."

The pair said their union would even make a good police officer, with Damon adding: "If we were mushed into one person called Damon Wanson Jr or Jamon Jayans Jr, we would be a good cop."

Let's Be Cops is released in UK cinemas on August 27.
