Jesse Eisenberg has admitted he doesn't have much cinema knowledge because he won't watch films.
The Social Network star told the Radio Times he was so self-conscious at seeing his first film, 2002's Roger Dodger, that he stopped going to the movies.
He said: "I just stopped watching movies altogether. So I'm not aware of anything that's going on in the movies right now. I don't know. I just stopped watching them."
But the Get Real actor did say that Roger Dodger was the only film that helped him progress his career.
Asked whether he felt The Social Network had moved his career up a gear, he said: "I wish I could say I have, but I haven't.
"Before [Roger Dodger] I was auditioning for musical theatre and dumb commercials. And I didn't get any parts. Then suddenly I was in this film and everything changed. I started getting sent scripts. I wouldn't have a career without it."
