Jim Carrey could be getting his action kicks in Kick-Ass 2.
The Canadian funnyman is rumoured to be in the running to portray Colonel Stars, a founding member of crime-fighting group Justice Forever, in Jeff Wadlow's highly-anticipated sequel, reported Deadline.com.
Jim is a fan of Matthew Vaughn's 2010 film, but nothing is confirmed as yet.
Aaron Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicolas Cage and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are expected to return for the follow-up, which is titled Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall.
The second film, tipped for release in 2013, is rumoured to see the costumed high-school hero (played by Aaron) joining the group of costume-wearing wannabe heroes, while rival Crimson Mist (Christopher) plots an act of revenge for his father's death.
Jim, last seen in Mr Popper's Penguins, will next star in magical comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone with Steve Carell and Olivia Wilde. He is also rumoured to be reprising his role for the Farrelly brothers' Dumb And Dumber sequel.
