Joel Edgerton is a funny fighter
Warrior's Joel Edgerton has revealed he used humour to overcome the professional cage fighters he faced for the film.
The Australian actor stars alongside Tom Hardy in the mixed martial arts fighting film, which required a very tough training regime and tackling real fighters.
Joel revealed: "I played a joke on one of the real fighters.
"He looked at me all tough and I handed him a little note and he just cracked up and he didn't know what to do because there were so many cameras on him."
Joel explained his gag further: "He had an altercation at Subway where he'd thrown a sandwich at one of the guys and I bought him a Subway voucher and handed it to him in the middle of the scene and he cracked up."
The 37-year-old actor actually has a black belt in karate, but he revealed a cage fighting match can be won or lost with the right stare.
Joel said: "When we face up it's a real game that the fighters play. You get a fighter who's got an ice cold stare, you're so frightened of the guy.
"A lot of the fighters will say you'll know if a fighter's won or lost just by a fighter's eyes - whether they're scared of the other person."
