Julie Delpy has announced that she is quitting acting.
The 42-year-old - who has been appearing on the silver screen since she was in her teens - told Deadline.com that she wants to focus on writing and directing from now on.
"I think I'm done with acting," said the star, whose hit movies include romantic dramas Before Sunrise and Before Sunset.
"Before, I just acted in movies with people I knew. Now I don't want to pursue acting. I will pursue writing and directing."
Julie has been writing for several years and made her feature length directorial debut in 2002 with Looking For Jimmy.
The French-born star's latest movie, 2 Days In New York - which she co-wrote, stars in and directed - is being screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
