Koechner felt Anchorman nostalgia

David Koechner has said shooting Anchorman 2 was the highlight of his career to date.

The 51-year-old actor - who plays Champ Kind in the Anchorman movies - admitted reuniting with Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and Steve Carell had been a nostalgic experience.

Asked what had been the happiest moment in his career so far, David said: "Probably while shooting Anchorman 2 and while promoting it. It was so much fun. It was definitely one of the highpoints, for sure.

"Then Cheap Thrills came out right after it, and it was so well received. We had a great time shooting it, and then the audiences dig it so much. It was a nice 1-2 punch."

He said of making the sequel: "It was nostalgic. The first time we got together we shot a little teaser trailer way back right after the thing was announced, and we didn't shoot the movie for another year. But the day we got back together and got the clothes on, and hung out, it was nostalgic but fun and exciting. Like: 'Wow. Can you believe we're going to do this again?'"

The Cheap Thrills star revealed he is about to begin work on spoof horror movie Scouts Vs Zombies.

He said: " You get a script and it's watermarked with your name on it, so I'm not sure how much I'm supposed to say, but it's about a small group of Scouts, and the number of the Scouts dwindles during a camp out. Unbeknown to them when they go out camping in the woods, the zombie apocalypse is occurring."
