Kravitz: Lawrence like my daughter
Lenny Kravitz has revealed that he considers Jennifer Lawrence as his "second daughter".
The American Woman rocker, who already knew the Oscar-nominated actress through his daughter Zoe, gets to work alongside her in The Hunger Games, where he plays stylist Cinna to Jennifer's heroine Katniss Everdeen.
"I knew Jennifer from Zoe when they were doing X-Men: First Class in London. I live in Paris so they would take the train, and my house became the flop house for the cast," he said.
"That's when I met Jennifer and immediately I fell in love with her. She's amazing, she's super-funny at all times - she keeps you cracking up. So it was interesting when I found out who was playing Katniss."
Lenny said that director Gary Ross approved of their chemistry.
"He liked the fact that we already had a relationship and that I already look on her as a daughter in a way," he added.
The 47-year-old heaped praise on Jennifer's performance in the film, saying: "Jennifer is amazing. Katniss is my favourite character and I love her strength, and Jennifer Lawrence embodies that from her background.
"She grew up with a hard-working life on farms and had to be quite adult at a young age, taking care of younger siblings. She's the real thing. She wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She knows about hard work and I love that about her."
The Hunger Games is in cinemas now.
