She also appeared to be breaking a pretty major no-selfie rule at the annual ball.
Kylie Jenner joined her sisters and a collection of celebrities in a selfie that looks set to rival Ellen DeGeneres’s memorable Oscars snap from 2014.
In the reality TV star’s snap, taken in the bathroom during the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute benefit gala in New York, Kylie is seen posing with sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kendall Jenner.
Also in the photo were Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson and rappers Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, Frank Ocean and ASAP Rocky.
Ellen’s famous Twitter selfie from the movie awards ceremony, featuring the likes of Bradley Cooper, Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence, broke a social media record at the time by gaining more than 2.5 million retweets in a few short hours.
Kylie’s image, posted on Instagram, racked up nearly two million likes in the space of five hours.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star’s photo also includes supermodel Lily Aldridge, Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris and Moonlight actor Ashton Sanders.
Kylie captioned the image: “Annual bathroom selfie.”
The 19-year-old personality appeared to be breaking the strict Met Gala no-selfie rule – reportedly set in 2015 by the event’s chairwoman Anna Wintour – by taking and posting the photo online.
