Lynda Carter on Wonder Woman cameo

Lynda Carter has revealed she would only take on a cameo in the new Wonder Woman movie if she feels the role is good enough for her.

The 59-year-old actress became an icon for millions when she played the superhero in the 70s TV show.

A Wonder Woman movie has been in the pipeline for years, and could finally hit cinemas in 2013.

Lynda revealed: "A cameo is kind of a broad word. As they say: 'There are no small parts, there are only small actors'.

"If it really is something that is gratuitous I won't do it; if it's just for me to show up in it I wouldn't do it, but if there is something written that they think would be appropriate then most definitely I'd consider it. I would love it."

Lynda is not sure who she would like to hand on her Wonder Woman lasso to for the big screen remake.

She said: "I've seen the faces of so many people [actresses], but the interesting thing about Wonder Woman is that you really knew her by both characters, because the audience knew she was Wonder Woman when I was playing Diana Prince, so for them it wasn't two different people."

Lynda adds: "And I never dumbed her down. I refused to sort of dumb her down. I just thought she needed to be smart and capable, but nobody really knew how smart and capable. It's got to be somebody that you either want to be best friends with, she's got to have that likeability about her, so it would be nice to have somebody who's unknown I think."

:: Lynda Carter will be singing at the Garrick Theatre, London on September 17 and 18.
