Marsden not in new X-Men movie
James Marsden has said he will not be reprising the role of Cyclops in the new X-Men movie.
The actor was rumoured to be heading back to the fold in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the follow up to X-Men: First Class which will see many past stars return, including Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Halle Berry.
But he told Vulture: "No, no X-Men, unfortunately."
However, James appeared to hint that he would be happy to reprise the part of Cyclops, who died in a previous film.
"If this next film really works, Bryan [director Bryan Singer] has said he wants to fix a few things, so hopefully that's one of them. It was great, to have a movie like that, the first two or three X-Men, and the studios in Hollywood work really hard to find a formula that's successful, and you want to keep that intact, so..."
He went on: "I always liked Cyclops, but they have a lot of characters that they have to parcel out, spend time with each one, make sure everyone feels like they've been given their due, introduce them appropriately, but you could do a spin-off of every one of those characters and give them so much depth to the story line."
